Our Leadership

Our lead pastor, Asah Hudgins, and his wife Tara have two great kids, Jordan and Jaxon. Asah came as an Intern to Crossroads after serving as a youth pastor in his home state of Georgia. After serving at our church as an associate pastor, he became the lead pastor in 2007. He has a Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and his Doctorate of Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Asah loves to preach and teach scripture and has a goal to preach through the entire Bible verse by verse during his lifetime. Asah is an avid reader and thoroughly enjoys learning all he can about Scripture so that he can pass that on to new leaders.

Bryan McMorris has led our youth ministry since May of 2013. His desire is to see the next generation discipled and instructed in the faith, and for them to become a vital part of the body of Christ in our church. Bryan seeks to accomplish these objectives through Christ and partnering with parents and the church.  Bryan also teaches history in a local high school. He and his wife, Devon, have been married since 2013 and have two children, Lydia and Silas.

Shelly Dehner guides the Children’s Ministry department and teaches our Crosskid lessons and special events, with the help of her husband, Scott. Together, they are raising and homeschooling their sons Trafton and Colton. Their daughter Madeleine is in Medical School at Tulane. Shelly has worked with children for over 17 years and has brought her love of teaching and passion for sharing the Gospel truths to the children in our church. Shelly brings the bible lessons to life through visual aid, crafts and storytelling while teaching our kids about the love of Jesus. She is currently pursuing her MDiv in Counseling through Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Benjamin Chouest serves as our worship leader and has been on our staff since 2014. He also holds the position of Director of Operations at Chick-fil-A in Hammond. He obtained his Master of Divinity in Worship Ministries at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has a strong desire to lead the congregation he serves by singing Christ-centered songs while keeping the gospel of Jesus Christ the main theme of our worship. Ben and his wife Maggie have been married since 2015 and have a little girl named Georgia who was born in 2017. Ben and Maggie love to find joy in everything they do and seek to share the love of Christ with everyone they meet.
